Study Participants
What does participating in the NOSES study involve?
Overview
This study lasts from 10 days to 3 weeks.
During the study, all participants will be asked to:
Meet once with a study doctor and study coordinator
Keep track of symptoms in a 1-minute daily diary
(completed via text or on paper)
Use a Nasal Irrigation System, a type of nasal wash system to
rinse your sinuses (as needed). The study team will provide
detailed information on how to use the nasal wash system.

Use over-the-counter medications, as discussed with your clinician
If you are still sick (or you have been sick) for more than 9 days,
you will be randomly placed (put by chance) in one of the following
four study treatment groups to receive:
Antibiotics
Antibiotic and a steroid nose spray
Placebo antibiotics
Placebo antibiotics and a steroid nose spray
